My own thoughts about computer science

I think computer science is a course that contains high techniques, and this subject cooperates well with the other subjects. Like we should use the computer to draw some relation diagrams or graphs in some science courses,we should design the model of buildings in the architecture class, we should restore the data and analyze the graph in economy, and so on. Computer science closely relates to our daily lives, and most of us use computers every day, like reading news, watching films, playing games, and shopping. I hope in the future, computer can have more functions, and provide more convenience to human.

What I have got and learned in this term

Computer science helped me greatly for me to edit the pictures, and in th future, I will use Dr. Racket to change the pictures to my favorite position. Also, the history of the computer development help me learn more about the trend of computer science in the future, and I can imagine what the computer will look like in the future, greater screen, faster software and system, less energy needed, and smaller in size. One of the most important things is that I have made friends with many classmates, and most of them are first student, so we have many things in common, and we can share the school life together, of course, we always discuss the questions. In the future, I prefer to look up the knowledge in the video website like youtube to improve my further knowledge, and it is an interesting way of learning. Computer science class will help me for sure in the future, and I would like to recommand this course to the other schoolmates.

My plan for the final exam

Time flies, and it is time for me to prepare for the final test of computer science. Firstly, I will read the powerpoints and the long notes of the history of computer development, and this is also myweak part, and I would like to write main points carefully on the aid paper, and recite some of them if I have ebough time. Secondly, I will watch the racket vidoes again and will take some notes down on the aid paper this time. I will try each video by myself using Dr. Racket. Thirdly, I will look at my past tests and quizzes, as for the mistakes, I will rethink and redo it to avoid making them once more in the final exam. Finally, if I have some problems, I would like to contact my friends at first, and if they do not know either, I will ask the professor or TA for help. I hope I will do better in the final exam if I work hard in this one and a half weeks.

About the projects of this term

We have done two projects this semester, and they were all about fix the mistake of changing the pictures in Dr. Racket. From doing those projects, I could learn deeper knowledge about the programming system in doctor racket, and it was harder than what we learned in class so that it could help me improve my picture editting skills. The most important thing is that students can coorperate with each other to share their own ideas about the way of editting. You may find it interesting and exciting to make a breakthroug after being confused for a long time, and you will feel successful and pleasant after running the program to see what you get, and some of them are filled with magic, like the rotation and the great change in color. To make a conclusion, the projects are quite interesting, and they can improve our understanding of the picturing editting by Dr. Racket.

My Last CSC Class

Today is my last computer science class. I felt that I had already obtained much knowledge from this class. Firstly, I have learnt how to edit images, and sometimes it made me feel amazed due to the change of pictures. I think Dr. Racket is a good software to edit the pictures, and it is easier than photoshop which is professional for only picturing edit. With the great help of our Professor Heap, I could learn the picturing language much more efficiently in an interesting way, because I could simply watch the video to see the examples that our professor showed us, thanks to his videos, I could learn better. At the same time, our TAs always in the room BA3175 to answer our questions on Fridays, and this helped. Also, I have known how to make a contribution to wikipedia, and the rule of revising essays in wikipedia, and how to get help from the wikipedia communication. Further more, I have a specific introduction of the computer develpment history in my mind now, and this shows me why my computer is excellent today. These are all great memories for my first year in U of T, I will keep them in my heart.

About Test 2

As for my computer science test 2 exam, I felt that I had more time to finish the whole  test comparing with test 1. I was very glad that I had managed the time properly, however, I did not do well again on the historical events of the development of computers again as test 1. I should not write all of the things on the aid paper but some main points so that It would be easier for me to look it up when I got confused during the exam. I did better in the calculation staff like binary, and I thought I was also good at writing the results of the picturing programs. I almost failed in the last question, because I did not read the queston carefully enough. Whatever the final result of test 2 was, I think I should work hard now for the final. I should hold on managing the time properly, and I should be careful with every word in the question. The most important thing is that I should remember some main points of the historical events instead of simply writing it downon the page. I hope I will success in the final.

CSC of Reading Week

   Last week, we also worked on the list which deals with a bunch of numbers, colors, or pictures. I know the programming words for list are not very simple to remember, so I spend some time remembering them every night during the reading week. I also got my test 1 last week, and the grade is so-so, and I know I should know how to manage my time in the next test. I hope things can get better after the reading week.
